Original oil paintings are on stretched canvas; I build the stretchers and stretch the canvas myself -- this saves me from having to paint to a preconceived size and allows each painting to be the size and shape that it needs to be.

I also have paintings available in Gouache and Ink, these paintings are professionaly matted.

I was born in 1971 in El Paso Texas, but have lived most of my life around the Dallas area. I am currently a student at the University of North Texas where I am pursuing a degree in English with a concentration in Creative Writing.

My drawing and painting is self taught. Art to me is expression, and because of this there is no bad art. As a blind artist, I enjoy the way some people express themselves in paint, or words or other media more than others, but I sincerely believe that one’s preference for a person’s art over another does not make that art any better or worse.

When I run my hands over an object and feel their textures my mind is filled with the colors of paints that have a similar texture. I know that a person’s skin is not red or blue, but sometimes to me it feels that way, and because of this I think painting has given me a very special way to view the world. "John Bramblitt's world began to shrink four years ago, when he noticed friends' faces becoming blurrier. At first he shrugged it off. After all, Bramblitt, now 34, had worn glasses since he was 11. But his eyesight declined to legal blindness -- and worse.
Now he barely perceives light and uses a cane to find his way. But it wasn't until he could no longer see vivid images that he decided to capture them in oil on canvas." READ MORE>

You can purchase an original art print in various size formats, or try to buy one of John Bramblitt's original paintings before they are all sold! SightlessWorks art prints look awesome as a poster. Although poster art wasn't John's original plan for his outward expression, the original poster art demand has been quite high lately.

It is possible to purchase some of the original paintings that have not been sold yet, or you may buy any of the many different sized prints of any of my art; though some may have not been set-up to sell as prints yet, I would be delighted to do so if you desire a print of a specific painting that has not been sent to print production ... it will just take a little longer for you to get your art print.
